Client information

Complaints

Pre-launch requirement: insert the service’s complaints contact, response times, escalation body and any ADR obligations. The final process must distinguish clearly between complaints about the introduction service and complaints about a barrister.

Complaints about our service

Please state what happened, when it happened and the resolution you seek. We will acknowledge the complaint, investigate it fairly and give a reasoned response within the published timeframe.

Complaints about a barrister

Your barrister’s client-care letter will identify their complaints procedure and applicable escalation route. Complaints should normally be made to the barrister or chambers first. Depending on the issue and eligibility rules, unresolved service complaints may be referred to the Legal Ombudsman; concerns about professional conduct may be reported to the Bar Standards Board.

Independent information

See the Bar Standards Board’s public information on using a barrister and making a complaint. Time limits can apply, so do not delay.
